Out of State Tuition Charges, Wait List

Questioning my out-of-state tuition charges

There are various reasons why you may be charged out-of-state tuition rates and in some cases these charges may be changed to the more favorable in-state tuition rate.

If you are a resident of Kentucky and live in Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, or Pendleton counties, and are a degree seeking student, you are eligible for the in-state tuition rate. If you are a resident of one of these counties and are currently being charged the out-of-state rate, you may have registered prior to being admitted to a degree program. You may go to the Cashier's Office (Main 154) and request a recalculation of your tuition charges for the current term.

If you are a resident of Indiana, you will be charged out-of-state tuition rates. However, you may be eligible for the Indiana State and Indiana Space grants through Financial Aid (Main 155).

If you are a resident of Ohio and are being charge out-of-state tuition rates, you may review the tuition section of the College catalog or residency on the College website for complete information about exceptions.

Determination and/or review of residency for tuition purposes must be completed by the first class day of the term to be effective.

How does the waitlist work?

Courses in the departments of BIO, EMS, and MCH have waitlists. If a course in one of these departments is full and space is available on the waitlist, you will be offered to be placed on that waitlist when you attempt to register. When an opening occurs, you receive an email notification offer at your Cincinnati State email address to enroll. This offer for you to enroll will last for twenty-four hours and then expire. You must register online or in-person before your offer expires. All waitlists expire by the first day of classes for the term. Beginning the first day of classes, students may request an override for a filled class on a first-come, first-served basis.
