How do I order items from other libraries?
Look for the item you desire in BLINK, the Berry Library’s online catalog. If the item you desire is not available, (either because our copy is in use or because we do not have the item) click on the “Search OhioLINK” button. This will search for your same item in nearly 100 libraries throughout Ohio. When you find the record for the item you want, click “Request This Item.” Choose “Cincinnati State” as your institution, and provide your name and ID number. You will receive an email notification when your item arrives.
Occasionally, you may want something that is not available through the OhioLINK system. When this happens, come to the Library’s Help Desk and request an interlibrary loan form. We will then search additional libraries outside of Ohio.
Can I use other libraries with my SurgeCard?
Berry Library users have borrowing privileges at all OhioLINK member libraries, and at member libraries of the Southwest Ohio and Neighboring (SWON) Libraries.
I am not affiliated with Cincinnati State. How do I obtain borrowing privileges?
Users from OhioLINK and SWON Libraries members can check out materials with proper identification.
How do I return items when the library is closed?
The Library does not have a “drop box” to accept returns when not opened. Items must be returned when the Library is open.
What is the schedule of fines for the library?
OhioLINK and media items are subject to fees of $.50 per day. Circulating Reserve items, which circulate for three days, are subject to overdue fees of $1.00 per day. Laptops are subject to overdue fees of $10 per hour.
What is the fee for lost materials?
The fee for lost materials from the Berry Library is a minimum of $100 per item. The fee for lost OhioLINK material is a minimum of $125 per item. Items are considered “lost” when they are 24 days overdue and bills are sent. If these items are then returned, fees are reduced to $25 per item for Berry Library materials and $50 per item for OhioLINK materials.
Where do I pay my fines?
Fines are paid at the Cashier’s Office.
