Connecting From Off-Campus
Accessing Research Databases
The library gives current Cincinnati State students, faculty, & staff free access to to hundreds of databases, making it easy to find scholarly articles, credible news reports, online books, & more. Most can be accessed from off-campus by following the links on our site & then entering your name & 7-digit College ID. Not sure what your ID number is? Go to MYCSTATE & use the link for "forgot your username or password" to retrieve it.
Checking out BooksYour Surge Card is your passport to checking out library books at the Cincinnati State Library, or for checking out books at ANY participating OhioLINK or SWON library. If you don't have your Surge Card yet, you can go get one onsite at the Middletown campus or to Student Activities on the main campus. See their web page for details at www.cincinnatistate.edu/on-campus/student-activities/surge-cards.
If you can't make it to either location, check with the library you want to use. As long as you have a current photo ID & know your 7-digit College ID, many will let you check out books as a Cincinnati State student. Find a participating library near you by using OhioLINK's interactive map, or by browsing SWON's member libraries.
If you are a current student, faculty, or staff member having trouble accessing library resources online, phone 513-569-1606 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
