Scott Webb

Scott Webb

Head Coach

Scott Webb

Scott Webb has built the Cincinnati State golf program into a national contender.  Under his leadership, the Surge claimed the 2015 NJCAA Division III Championship after posting a runner-up finish in 2014.

Webb, who has completed his 20th season as head coach, started the golf program at Cincinnati State.  His teams have made five appearances in the NJCAA national championships (2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015) and have produced 11 NJCAA All-Americans.

The 2015 squad became Cincinnati State‚Äôs only national championship team, making up a four-stroke deficit on the final day.  Taylor Suggs was the tournament medalist with Alex Ebel and Jeff Wray earning All-American honors.

The 2014 Surge, with All-American efforts by Suggs, Wray and Matt Nickoson, took runner-up honors at the national championships.

Webb has worked in the golf industry for over a quarter of a century following his career as a player at Mississippi State.  That experience has given him the insight as to the requirements of being successful in college golf.

"Playing both collegiately and serving as a PGA Professional, I have learned what it takes to excel in the sport of golf," Webb said. "I try to emphasize and share these points with my team with the intentions that they can take the knowledge to the course and be a better all-around player and person."
