ITS Introduces Mobile Apps for Cincinnati State
Mobile apps are the fastest growing dimension in higher education today. No surprise in that – after all, smartphones are expected to outpace PCs in 2013 as the most common Web access device. Cincinnati State students are no different and most have some form of personal mobile access device. Our customers -- including students, faculty, and staff -- expect to learn, work, and study whenever and wherever they want.
To support new instructional project-based collaborative models that include online and hybrid learning, the ITS division is providing and developing a mobile-based ecosystem to engage Cincinnati State students and support emerging technologies. This new suite of mobile access applications includes Blackboard Mobile, CState Mobile, and VMWare View.
The CState Mobile Suite will allow students and faculty to use their smartphones, PCs, iPads, and Window tablets to access learning content, student schedules, grades, bus schedules, and much more. Soon, we will be able to connect virtually using personal devices to applications and services that in the past were only available in labs and on college owned equipment.
By leveraging technology tools and analytics to connect curriculum to real-life issues, we can deliver and support administrative and active-learning instructional systems focused on student success. ITS is excited about providing these new services and invite our college family to get started by accessing http://m.cincinnatistate.edu or by downloading the free app for Blackboard Mobile on their iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
