Shared experiences help chart your course

New and evolving technologies, ideas, and elements provide a lot of options when creating or enhancing a distance learning course. But with so many Cincinnati State faculty members exploring new methods and doing new things, there’s no need for you to start from scratch.

These videos highlight some of the resources available to distance learning faculty at Cincinnati State, and share ideas from fellow instructors on how to chart your course for distance learning success.

Video 1: Carla Gesell-Streeter

Carla Gesell-Streeter discusses Broadtexter.com- a website that allows musicians to send text messages to large groups. Carla covers how instructors can also use Broadtexter as a way to communicate with their class via text messaging.

Video 2: Jim Krailler

Jim Krailler discusses the role of the Instructional Support Technologies department at Cincinnati State. This department supports a range of services to the faculty at the college that includes instructional design and consultation as well as multimedia production.

Video 3: Peggy Rolfsen

Peggy Rolfsen discusses the best practices she utilizes in her own online courses. These practices include welcome announcements, getting started pages, and weekly updates information.
