Fall Online Course Tune-up Days

Does your online or hybrid course need a tune up? Is it missing out or running rough? Could it use an alignment? What about a good detailing? These two days are set aside to allow time for instructors to come in and work on revisions to previously-taught courses that will also be taught in the 2014 Fall Semester. You can come in at any point during the hours of 9 am-3 pm and put your course up on the lift, hook it up to the diagnostic computer, and work with the “mechanics” from the Office of Distance Education and the Instructional Designer.

The assessment addresses life factors, motivational attitudes, learning styles, reading rate and recall, technical competency, technical knowledge, and typing speed and accuracy. Students can have their results sent to their instructor via email.

Course Policies for Online and Hybrid Courses Workshop

A syllabus or course policies document for an online or hybrid course usually needs to have some additional detail and specificity compared to face-to-face course syllabi.

This workshop will provide some boilerplate language you might consider using as a starting point for your online and hybrid courses. Please bring existing course policies for a course that you are currently teaching online/hybrid, or for one that you might want to develop for those environments. Participants will be encouraged to share policies that have worked well for them
in the past.
