Humanities & Sciences

Explore your options.

Maybe you have thought about going into interpreter training or early childhood care and education. These are just two of the programs offered through the Humanities and Sciences divisions. These divisions offer Associate of Arts and Associate of Sciences degrees, as well as technical associate degree and certificate programs. Many grads in these divisions go on to pursue four-year degrees and become teachers, attorneys, psychologists, or other professionals.

You can seek immediate employment.

As a graduate of a technical program in these divisions, you can be prepared for immediate employment in your fields of study. Students in Humanities and Sciences technical degree programs gain work experience through paid cooperative education, which is an integral part of the curriculum.

Or you can go on to a bachelor’s degree—and more.

Many Humanities and Sciences grads choose to continue their education and pursue bachelor's degrees, some studying full-time and others studying part-time while involved in a career.

The Associate of Arts degree provides the first two years toward bachelor's degree programs in fields such as communications, criminal justice, economics, English, history, journalism, political science, psychology, sociology, and many other areas of study, including pre-professional fields such as education, law, and pre-mortuary science.

The Associate of Sciences degree provides the first two years toward bachelor's degree programs in fields such as biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and pre-professional fields such as dentistry, education, engineering, medicine, pharmacy, or veterinary medicine.

Learn affordably, then make an easy transfer.

Many students earn their associate degree and the first two years of credits for a four-year program at Cincinnati State, with the most affordable rates around. Then, thanks to our articulation agreements with the University of Cincinnati, as well as the College of Mount St. Joseph, Northern Kentucky University, Thomas More College, Xavier University, and many other colleges and universities, Cincinnati State grads experience an easy transfer into their junior year.
