Employment Options

Graduates are prepared to:

  • Demonstrate competencies in entry-level surgical skills
  • Serve in the scrub or assistant circulator role on the surgical team
  • Serve in the private scrub role for surgeons
  • Serve as central service manager

Graduate Starting Salary Projections

$18 – $21.50/hour; $34,560 – $41,280 annually

Employment Outlook

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, surgical technology employment opportunities are expected to increase by close to 20% through 2020. Most surgical technologists work in hospitals, although employment in physicians’ offices and outpatient surgery centers also may be an option.
