ENGAGE is your chance to explore Cincinnati State and the over 100 degree programs and certificates we have to offer.  During this special event you can Engage with our various divisions and departments through a series of fun activities designed to educate and introduce you to what’s possible at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.  Take a look at the information below to see what we have in store.



Cincinnati State offers specialized training programs to meet the needs of a variety of businesses in fields such as accounting, financial services, marketing, management, and administration. We design each business associate degrees and certificate programs in collaboration with an advisory board of professionals from Greater Cincinnati’s leading companies. All of our business programs include a co-op requirement to provide on-the-job experience and valuable networking opportunities.


Information technology is the one of the fastest growing industries in the country and Cincinnati State prepares students to enter into just about every specialty in the field, from computer hardware and programming to network administration and management. We also work with industry experts and local business to develop highly relevant programs that reflect the quickly changing needs of the industry. For instance, our recently created cyber-security program is one of the first of its kind offered in the region. Programs such as Health Information Technology train students to enter one of today’s top-hiring career fields. Whether you’re looking to start a new career or are an experienced professional returning to brush up your skills, Cincinnati State has the right IT program for you.

Multimedia and Design

Our multi-media and design programs prepare students to work in an exciting and growing field that combines creativity and technology, with degree and certificate programs such as graphic and web design or audio and video production. Students also get the opportunity to learn on the latest equipment, which includes our HD video studio and our state-of-the art audio recording studio. Every year students from our program compete successfully in regional design and video competitions with peers from four-year institutions.


Our nationally-ranked culinary and pastry arts programs give students the opportunity to pursue their passion for creative cooking and baking at the highest level. Whether your dream is opening a boutique cake shop or working at a five-star restaurant, our highly experienced instructors
give you the training you need. Our hospitality management program provides the business foundations to not only get a job in the hotel and restaurant industries, but also to become a successful manager. Our graduates enjoy remarkable job placement success, many with leading restaurants, hotels, and other hospitality venues across the country. All these degree and certificate programs are offered out of our nationally recognized Midwest Culinary Institute.

Public Safety

For students who want to serve their communities and work in a uniquely rewarding career field, Cincinnati State offers a full range of public safety programs.
Our degree and certificate programs prepare students to enter the field as EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, or police officers. Our leadership programs help working professionals advance their careers. Our Associate Degree in Law Enforcement can help students interested in police work transfer into a bachelor’s degree program or enter the police academy.


Cincinnati State is one of southwest Ohio’s leaders in accredited healthcare education. Whether you’re interested in direct patient care such as nursing
or occupational therapy, or excited about a job involving healthcare technologies, such as an EKG technician or laboratory assistant, Nursing, Diagnostic Sonography DMS and Emergency Medical EMS, we have the program for you! We offer seasoned instructors and up-to-date learning labs along with clinical rotations for most programs. All of this contributes to our students’ consistently high pass rate on national and state certification exams.


As the importance placed on physical fitness has grown, Cincinnati State’s programming has kept pace. We have developed new instructor certification course for programs such as Pilates, yoga, water aerobics, and fitness for special populations. We also offer highly versatile personal trainer and group fitness instructor certification programs that prepare students to pass national certification exams, and open doors for employment at health clubs, corporate fitness centers, aerobic studios,
or recreation programs.


Cincinnati State is a regional leader in preparing students for careers in environmental protection. We were the first community college in Ohio to offer a renewable energy major, and have recently added sustainable agriculture and horticulture programs. Partnerships with local agencies such as the Metropolitan Sewer District and Cincinnati Water Works help to make our programs in wastewater and storm water management among the best in the area. In addition, our construction management program prepare students to earn their LEED green building certification. Students in our Environmental Engineering Technologies program routinely compete successfully  against peers from four-year colleges.


Automobile manufacturing and repair are two of the most important industries in southwest Ohio. While the need for good auto technicians hasn’t changed, the technical knowledge required to be one has. Cincinnati State’s Automotive Service programs combine up-to-date classroom training with hands-on lab work and on-the-job co-op assignments. Our degree and certificate programs give students the technical skills needed to earn professional certifications as well as important foundations in automotive service management. We also prepare students for careers in aircraft maintenance with FAA-approved degree and certificate programs in aviation mechanics at the Cincinnati West Airport on our Harrison campus.

Engineering & Manufacturing 

Greater Cincinnati has a long history as a manufacturing center. Technology has transformed this industry, and today’s job applicants need specialized education. Cincinnati State’s engineering technology programs have kept abreast of these changes. Students can choose from such core disciplines as chemical, civil, construction, electrical, and mechanical engineering technologies, as well as newly developed programs in renewable energy and environmental technologies. Cincinnati State also offers a manufacturing management major, as well as a land surveying certificate that’s among the best in the country.
