Counseling Services for Cincinnati State Students
Individual counseling
Enrolled students may take advantage of one-on-one short term counseling that is voluntary and focuses on personal issues
Crisis counseling
Designed to assist enrolled students in crisis with immediate personal and emotional concerns
Academic support
Offered to enrolled students; focuses on concerns about classes
Consultation
Counselors are available on an as-needed basis for consulting with students, faculty and administrators.
Education and outreach
Workshops and classroom presentations on a variety of topics are scheduled on an as needed basis or are available upon request.
Referrals
Every concern a student presents is not always served by the Counseling Center. If it is determined that students may best be served by other kinds of help, the counselors may assist the student in arranging for those services, whether on or off campus.
Self-help resources
A variety of handouts are available to assist students with academic and personal skills, interpersonal relations, and personal growth. The handouts include agency and individual providers of mental health services and links to additional educational information. These materials are found in the wall pockets outside of the Counseling Center at Room 168 Main Building.
