New students are invited to join us for a fun and informative orientation event on December 10, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This event will help new College students make a smooth transition into their studies at Cincinnati State. Whether you just graduated from high school, are an adult learner returning to school, are transferring from another college or university, or are joining us from abroad, New Student Orientation is the place to meet other students and gain the insights you need to be great at Cincinnati State!
The theme for Spring 2017 orientation is The Amazing Race. Students will move through the event in teams. Each stage of the race provides a new opportunity to learn about College and learn what it takes to cross the finish line!
(Tip: We encourage you to wear clothes that allow for movement.)
Students who attend New Student Orientation will:
- Learn about the Financial Aid process
- Learn more about College Career Services
- Confirm your academic plans for a career-oriented or a transfer-focused degree
- Meet with Academic Advisors and College Success Coaches
- Connect with student peers
- Learn about campus resources
- Register for your Spring 2017 classes (if you haven't already)
- Get your student ID card (SurgeCard)
- And more…
Lunch and a t-shirt will be provided. Please let your College Success Coach know your shirt size and/or any special dietary requirements.
A Parent/Guest information session, focused on how to help a student be successful, will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. Parents/Guests who are carpooling with a student should plan to pick up their student at 4:30 p.m.
