The need:

Why now? Change is the only thing you can really be certain about in this time of economic upheaval, downsizing, and unemployment. Increasing numbers of people are seeking to meet these challenges by re-defining themselves – switching careers, starting up new businesses, and even dropping out of the corporate world to pursue their life’s dream adventure. Learn the most effective way to sort out how to create a future that will be meaningful and satisfying as well as sustainable.

The experience:

"Transitions" is a dynamic interactive process designed to assist you in creating an exciting future that fits who you are. The seminar combines two unique perspectives – positive psychology and brand development -- in a powerful re-definition process. By combining creative brainstorming methods with within a psychological framework, we lead you through a deep dive of your motivations, strengths and values. This process enables you to tap into your own unique resources to construct a redefined self that will make a huge difference in how you live and succeed.

The objectives:

As a result of this learning opportunity, you will:
• Discover the "Transitions" model for personal and professional re-definition
• Utilize creativity to uncover needs, values and joys
• Learn the roles that your personal and professional motivators play in re-defining yourself
• Increase understanding of personal and professional values and how they serve to drive decisions
• Capture the physiological benefits of integrating joy into a personal brand
• Identify joyful activities that help maintain momentum toward reaching your goals
• Build a foundation for your re-defined self based on needs, values and joyful activities
• Gain an opportunity to learn from one another through structured group activities
• Develop a personalized plan to set your re-defined self in motion.

Alta’s expertise in defining strategic brand objectives and leading the analysis of critical insights has driven global branding success. Alta has held positions as creative director, design director, designer and qualitative research consultant at global branding firms and research firms.

At the heart of every project, Alta focuses on ideas and ways to uncover rich connections that lead to the biggest ideas by connecting with what people really care about. Throughout her career, she has contributed concepts to many of the world’s biggest brands. She has worked on brands that touch every part of your daily life and within every life stage from infant to adult and include products like coffee, laundry care, beauty, health care, and technology. She has traveled the world, talking and listening to consumers across many cultures.

An avocation beyond her everyday work centers on how people think and create themselves through ideas. So, after many years of designing brand and innovation strategies based on why people buy a specific product, Alta turns her brandcentric approach toward self improvement.

In this workshop and the development of the accompanying book, Alta combines her innate curiosity, understanding of branding, trends and marketplace dynamics with her studies in psychology and sociology. Partnering with Dr. McFarland has resulted in the development of a personalized process that each of us can follow to connect with our own inner muse. By using a similar process to how big brands define themselves and combining it with proven psychological methods, we can all learn to find the answers within ourselves and use them to redefine our own personal brand to achieve success.
