Pamela decided to go back to school to better herself and advance her career by taking on a double major in Accounting and Pre-Business at Cincinnati State. Her first co-op job was at the tax accounting firm Flynn & Company, where she was given the responsibility of preparing tax returns for clients.
“I was hands-on day one," she said. "This was real-life experience and it solidified for me what I wanted to do.”
Pamela’s second co-op was at Procter and Gamble, where she worked in the Finance and Accounting Department for one semester, then returned as an IT Solutions co-op for the Global Business Solutions division. There she performed data analysis and managed networking and communications charges for P&G sites, plants, and facilities globally. This allowed her to interact with co-workers from around the world on a daily basis -- an experience she said she’ll never forget.
“I loved every second of it," Pamela said. "The first minute you walk in the door you are immersed. It was tremendous.” Through her co-op experiences at Cincinnati State, Pamela not only earned extra money while going to school, she also gained a new motivation for what she was studying. She now plans to get her bachelor’s degree in International Business, Finance, and Economics after graduating from Cincinnati State.
