Each year Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society seek to honor students as representatives of all outstanding community college students. Community colleges across the U.S. are eligible to nominate only two students. It gives me great pleasure to announce Cincinnati State's 2012 All USA Nominees, Carol Thomas and John Vanderbilt.
Carol is majoring in Business Management/Hospitality Management/Event Management and plans to obtain a Master in Business Management. In addition, Carol is President of Phi Theta Kappa and the Student Senate. Under Carol’s leadership Phi Theta Kappa received the Pinnacle Award from Phi Theta Kappa International which is given to those chapters who have increased their membership. Carol is also a Student Ambassador.
John is majoring in Environmental Engineering Technology and Stormwater Management and plans to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree. John has held co-op positions at the Cincinnati Park Board and Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati. John is a member of the Environmental Club and American Society of Civil Engineers. John’s community service includes Boy Scout Troop #420, St. Jude Parish and Rivers Unlimited.
Congratulation to these two outstanding students.
