A Cincinnati City Council committee on Tuesday voted in favor on an ordinance that would establish a residential permit parking zone for several streets near the Cincinnati State campus.

The Cincinnati State women's basketball team suffered the first loss of the season on the road to Vincennes University by a score of 91-76 on Monday night. The loss snapped the Surge's 19 game winning streak. For the Vincennes Trailblazers, a NJCAA D-I program, the victory marked the 12th win in a row. Vincennes also kept a perfect record at home as they improved to 13-0 on their court. Five Vincennes players scored in double figures led by Skylarr Shurn with 25 points on the night.

The Institute for Social Media at Cincinnati State is launching a series of short courses aimed at business professionals. The three-hour sessions are designed to drive home the most important aspects of social media in hands-on, business-oriented formats. The four courses are designed to meet the needs of professional in sales, development, marketing and public relations as well as owners and entrepreneurs.
President Owens has sent a “Call to Action” letter to Cincinnati State students in response to a petition by Clifton residents that would institute a Residents Only Parking Permit Ordinance for many of the streets surrounding the main campus.
