The undefeated Cincinnati State Lady Surge, currently ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA national poll, and the 13-4 Cincinnati State men’s team will return to action at home on Wednesday for games against conference rival Columbus State Community College. The women’s game will begin at 5:30 p.m., the men’s game at 7:30 p.m.

President Owens, members of his executive team and staff members presented the launch of a strategic planning process to the Board of Trustees and members of the Cincinnati State community during the board’s retreat Tuesday afternoon.
Dr. Wyatt Cotton, Chemistry Department faculty member, has received a $500 grant from the American Chemical Society (ACS) to start an ACS student chapter here on the campus of Cincinnati State. Charter members are eligible to apply for a “Charter Member Rebate” in the Humanities and Sciences divisions for assistance in paying the $25 membership fee. Students should see Dr. Cotton in Room 232 Main for more information and to pick up their Charter Member Rebate application.
The Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet tomorrow (Tuesday, Jan. 24) to conduct a retreat and a regular public meeting. The retreat is scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. in the Conference Center, and conclude by 3:15 p.m. The regular monthly board meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m. in the same location. Both meetings are open to the public.
The Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association awarded nearly $20,000 in scholarships to college students in landscape degree programs at Ohio colleges Monday evening at their annual awards ceremony.
Debbie Fulton, a cashier for the Cincinnati State Bookstore for many years, passed away over the weekend.
A much appreciated donated to the Career Closet in Room 143 Main included a set of three keys in a pocket of one of the garments. The keepers of the closet suspect that the keys were not meant to be part of the donation, so they’ve sent them to the corporate headquarters of My CState Daily News (167 Main) in hopes the rightful owner will arrive to claim them.
