Please tell your students that the waiting list for Federal Work Study opened on Jan. 13 and will remain open until Feb. 3 at 8 a.m. Signing up for the waiting list does not guarantee employment but does increase a student’s chances. To go on the waiting list and be considered eligible a student must:1. Have at least a 2.0 GPA 2. Maintain at least a 67% completion rate.
Please extend your condolences to Barbara Sumbry, an adjunct instructor in the Early Childhood Education Department, for the loss of her aunt Friday, Jan.13 in Cleveland, Ohio. Barb's aunt was 91 years old and was blessed to have a full life.

President Owens is scheduled to be the keynote speaker when Christ Hospital holds its annual observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Wednesday, Jan. 18.The program will honor former Cincinnati Vice Mayor and civil rights activist Marian Spencer, and will include performances by the student choir from William Howard Taft Elementary.

The state Fire Marshall will be testing fire alarms in the Main building on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 17. This testing is for preparation of final inspections for the new Human Resource Office.

Congratulations to several Cincinnati State men's soccer players for being named to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association’s All-OHIO 1st Team. This is the first year that OCSA is recognizing junior college soccer players. The Cincinnati State players were:
