A large, happy crowd of more than 750 Cincinnati State students and employees enjoyed sunshine, food, music, and games at the Charter Day Picnic on Sep. 19, 2019. Assignments for the Summer Semester 2019 Mechanical Engineering Technology class MET 112, Manufacturing Processes 2, led to recognition and prizes for the course instructor and students who entered the 2019 international competition "Masters of Cam Wildest Parts." The competition is sponsored by Mastercam, an industry leader in CAD/CAM technology (computer numerical control / computer aided manufacturing).


From the College Archives: The Cincinnati Enquirer announced (in March 1966) plans to form a new "co-op technical school" in Cincinnati.


Cincinnati State faculty members served as instructors during the annual “Exploring Healthcare Careers” Summer Camp held Jul. 30 to Aug. 2, 2019, at UC Health - West Chester Hospital. The camp gives high school students in grades 9-12 an opportunity to learn more about careers in healthcare. The campers also participated in job shadowing experiences to learn more about departments at the hospital and the healthcare career opportunities in these departments.


On August 12, 2019, the Summer graduates of Cincinnati State's Medical Assistant Certificate (seen in photos above and below) celebrated their achievement at a pinning ceremony. Effective Sep. 3, 2019, the Interim Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety for Cincinnati State is Edward Greene (above). Vice President of Administration Lawra Baumann said the College has contracted with Chief Greene to serve for six months. A search for a permanent Chief of Police is expected to begin early in 2020. Dr. Tom Burns, Professor of Civil Engineering Technologies, recently released his second novel, titled Inertia. This thriller continues the story that began in Equilibrium (published in 2017) of Nick Kremer, a structural engineer turned community college faculty member, and his colleague chemistry professor Katie Walsh. In Tom's first book, Nick and Katie found themselves in a race against time to stop a diabolical terror plot.


Mike Maydak, an adjunct instructor in Cincinnati State's Graphic Design program, designed, painted, and presented the FC Cincinnati "Star of the Match" award on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019. Mike is seen above presenting the award-- a one-of-a-kind Fender guitar-- to Forward Darren Mattocks. The award is supported by Heineken, one of the football club's corporate sponsors. A "Star of the Match" is selected after every home game.
