Main Street Ventures, in collaboration with Cincinnati State, is launching a pitch competition exclusively for business owners who complete Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses at Cincinnati State. Eligible Cohort 3 participants who demonstrate a strong, well-thought out Growth Opportunity will receive an invitation to the compete for up to $30,000 in grant awards.

Eligibility Criteria

All pitch participants must satisfactorily complete Cohort 3 of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses at Cincinnati State. Participant must be a business entity (C-Corp, S-Corp, or LLC) with a Federal Tax ID (EIN). Business entity must be located in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky/Southeastern Indiana Region within these areas: Hamilton, Butler, Clermont, and Warren counties in Ohio; Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn County in Indiana. Participant’s business must show sufficient revenue that proves the business concept relative to its industry. Growth Opportunity must be project-based where results can be tracked by a defined metric. The grant does not provide funds for general business operating funds.

Phase 1: Apply

  • July 6, 2021 – Applications open for Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses (10kSB), Cincinnati State, Cohort 3
  • October 15, 2021 – 10kSB Deadline for Part 1
  • November 1, 2021 – 10kSB Deadline for Part 2
  • December 16, 2021 – 10kSB Finalist Interviews

Phase 2: Attend

  • January 20, 2022 – 10kSB Cohort 3 Orientation
  • January 21, 2022 – April 15, 10kSB Curriculum Delivery (FRIDAYS ONLY)
  • April 21, 2022 – Practice Growth Opportunity Pitch

Phase 3: PITCH

  • April 29, 2022 – GROW Cincy Pitch Day (up to $30,000 grant awarded)
