A Direct Path to a Career That Makes a Difference
The Human and Social Services major at Cincinnati State offers a fast, affordable path into meaningful work—without the time or cost of a four-year degree. In just two years, you’ll complete 300 hours of hands-on practicum, working directly with clients in community agencies, behavioral health programs, and support organizations.
Qualified graduates can register to become a Social Work Assistant (SWA) in Ohio—a credentialed, frontline professional who supports licensed social workers, counselors, and therapists to provide human, social, and community services. No licensing exam required. With built-in field experience and a job-ready credential, you’ll stand out in a growing field.
While some hybrid and online options are available, most students attend full time, with on-campus classes – many of which are held on weekdays. You’ll learn from supportive faculty, complete field placements that build your confidence, and join a student community that’s focused on helping others—just like you.
