Grants are need-based financial aid funded through the federal and state government.
Scholarships are financial awards based on academic merit, need, talent, or other criteria.
Student Loans
Loans are financial aid from federal, state, or private sources that require repayment.
Work-Study Programs
Federal Work Study is a part-time job on campus to help students offset the cost of education and get real-world work experience.


Can I get financial aid?
There are no income caps to qualify you for student aid. Many factors go into the equation and you might be eligible even if you think you’re not!

How much financial aid can I get?
The amount of money you can get by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) depends on your financial need. But, the average amounts are about $9,000 per year. Because Cincinnati State offers scholarships on top of low tuition that means less out of pocket and more freedom from debt for you!

How do I get financial aid?
Submit the free application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) online
Apply for a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID, which serves as your electronic signature. Dependent students will need to have one parent/guardian obtain a FSAID as well.
