Work-Study

Students can apply for student worker jobs to help offset the cost of their education. Depending on their level of financial need, students may qualify for the Federal Work-Study Program.

  • A variety of jobs are available both on and off campus, including clerical work, tutoring, and assisting in computer labs.
     
  • Pay rates and rules are the same for Federal Work-Study workers and other student worker.

Federal Work-Study Program

The Federal Work-Study Program (FWS) provides part-time jobs to help students earn money while attending classes. Students will learn if they are eligible for the FWS program when they receive their FAFSA notification.

How to Apply for Federal Work-Study Jobs:

  • Complete the FAFSA form. Use school code 010345 for Cincinnati State.
  • View current Cincinnati State job openings and apply to jobs listed as “Federal Work-Study Student Worker” or "Student Worker."
  • The Federal Work Study Coordinator will review your eligibility, job application, and academic progress.
  • If you are chosen for a job and eligible for the Federal Work-Study program, the Human Resources Office will contact you to complete the hiring process.

  • Time sheets for currently employed Federal Work-Study students
    • Time sheets are due on the assigned payroll dates, by 1:00 pm.
    • Time sheets submitted late will be accepted but will not be processed until the next pay period

Other Student Worker Jobs

Students who do not qualify for the Federal Work-Study Program can apply for student worker jobs at Cincinnati State. 

  • After you submit your application for a student worker job, you will be contacted by the Federal Work-Study Coordinator if you qualify for FWS.
  • If you do not qualify for FWS, you can still be hired as a student worker.
  • Federal Work-Study Program workers and other student workers have the same pay rate and the same rules and regulations for work hours.

  • View current Cincinnati State job openings and apply to jobs listed as “Student Worker.” If you aren't sure if you are eligible for Federal Work-Study jobs, you can apply for jobs listed as "Federal Work-Study Student Worker."
  • If you are chosen for a job, the Human Resources Office will contact you to complete the hiring process.
