Writing Center

Services

The Writing Center provides free writing support to all Cincinnati State students.

English faculty serve as Writing Center tutors offering individualized consultations and resources for any stage of the writing process including brainstorming ideas, developing a thesis, organizing your paper, conducting research, integrating sources, and revising a final draft.

The Writing Center also offers guidance on grammar, style, clarity, ESL, and documentation using MLA and APA formats. Support is available for writing assignments in any course across all academic disciplines.

Appointments

Although limited walk-in service is available, we encourage students to make an appointment for Writing Center services.

To make an appointment, use the Starfish kiosk in the Writing Center, or use the Starfish tab on your Cincinnati State MyCState online account.

Choose an instructor and select the location (Main 235 or Zoom).

On-campus tutoring:

Starting the second week of the semester:
Monday – Thursday: 9am – 5pm
Friday – Saturdays: 10am – 2pm

The Writing Center is closed on Sundays and school holidays.

Online tutoring:

Monday – Thursday: 9am – 5pm & 6 – 8pm
Friday – Saturday: 10am – 2pm
