More than 100 students attended, including sign language interpreting students from the University of Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky University, and Xavier University, as well as Cincinnati State.

Cook, an American Sign Language instructor at the Community College of Allegheny County (Maryland), is the inventor of the “SignTasTic” card game, which is intended to help break down barriers between hearing and Deaf worlds. The card game also provided the basis for a TV game show.

Cincinnati State’s ITP Live Lab Coordinator, John Gerkin, was Cook’s college roommate.
