Roots to Boots
An initiative in partnership with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful to support Hamilton Country residents ages 18-24 with an interest in sustainable horticulture.
About the Program
Roots to Boots is a 9-week workforce development program that provides quality education, training, and support to eligible Hamilton County residents ages 18-24 who are interested in a career managing and maintaining greenspaces.
Participants will earn an OSHA 10 industry safety certification through Cincinnati State’s Workforce Development Center and learn vital skills such as plant identification, chainsaw safety, tree care, tool safety & maintenance, and green infrastructure basics. No prior experience is required.
- Hamilton County residents ages 18-24 who are interested in the Roots to Boots Program may complete an application on the Keep Cincinnati Beautiful website at www.keepcincinnatibeautiful.org.
- The fall 2026 cohort runs September 20th, 2026 – November 20th, 2026.
- Schedule of meeting days:
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of the first week
- Only Wednesdays every following week
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of the last week
- Applications close on August 1st, 2026.
