Surge Cupboard Food Pantry

The Surge Cupboard Food Pantry helps students who are dealing with food insecurity.

Currently-registered Cincinnati State students may visit the Surge Cupboard once a month to receive up to a 3-day supply of food and toiletries at no cost, by showing their Surge Card (student ID card).

Hours and Location:

The Surge Cupboard is in Main Building Room 137 on Clifton Campus.

Food Pantry Hours:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday – 12 p.m. (noon) – 3 p.m.
  • Students should bring your Surge Card and Blackboard login information
  • Students can contact Angela Haensel (angela.haensel@cincinnatistate.edu) to set up an appointment to visit the food pantry at a different time

Students with food insecurity concerns may also contact the FreeStore FoodBank or FoodPantries.org.

Farmer’s Market

During Fall and Spring semesters, the Food Pantry offers a monthly Farmer’s Market, with seasonal fruits and vegetables available to currently-registered Cincinnati State students at no cost. 

The produce is provided through a partnership with the FreeStore FoodBank.

Farmer’s Market Days, Hours, and Location

  • Thursday, February 15th
  • Thursday, March 21st
  • Thursday, April 18th

Each Farmer’s Market Day starts at 11 a.m. and continues until all the food is gone. The usual location is the ATLC First Floor Lounge, near the Fireplace (or look for posters with an alternate location).

Donations

Cincinnati State employees are welcome to contribute non-perishable food and toiletries (see the list below). Please avoid glass containers; plastic containers are preferred.

Department offices throughout the College have boxes where you can leave your Surge Cupboard donations. If your office needs a donation box, please contact Angela Haensel.
