Cincinnati State’s mission is to engage students, provide informational materials, and answer questions regarding the free services that available to assist our students in graduating.


Advising Center
Students completing academic foundations classes schedule advising through the Advising Center. Other students schedule advising through their Academic Division Office.

Advising in the Academic Divisions

Business Technology
In the Business Technologies division, students gain knowledge and the analytical and interpersonal skills critical to success in accounting, landscape horticulture, marketing management, and many other business specialties. This is where you’ll find our renowned Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State offering hospitality management, culinary and pastry arts.

Center for Innovation Technologies
The Center for Innovative Technologies houses engineering and information technologies programs that are vitally important to our region. Students can pursue careers in advanced manufacturing, biomedical engineering technologies, health informatics, and green energy industries, as well as staples such as surveying, computer programming, and PC support. The CIT also is home to award-winning degree programs in multimedia fields including graphic design and audio/video production.

Health & Public Safety
This division offers nursing, clinical lab technician, EMT, and safety/security manager are among the professions you can prepare for in the Health and Public Safety division. Does a career in personal fitness training, health information management, biotechnology, EMT Paramedic or Fire Service technology appeal to you?

Humanities & Sciences
Complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree and transfer seamlessly to your junior year. A smart start to your 4-year degree if a bachelor’s degree is in your education plan. Study interpreter training or early childhood care and education. The Humanities and Sciences divisions also offer Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees in an array of fields such as criminal justice, social work, and many more.

Resources to help with class work and research.

International Student Affairs
Support and serve the international student community. Free ESL classes.

Disability Services
The Office of Disability Services (ODS) works with students having special needs to ensure they receive reasonable academic accommodations in courses of study, according to their individual needs.

Counseling Services
Counseling and referral services that address career choices, community resources, and mental health.

Academic Support

Success Center
Free tutoring services to any student enrolled at the College.

Writing Center
Tutorial support, free of charge, to students whose coursework includes written assignments.

TRiO – Student Support Services
Tutoring, academic coaching, and support for first generation, low income, or disabled students.

C-State Accelerate
A program to provide assistance and incentives to graduate within three years.

Career Services

Counseling Services
Counseling and referral services that address career choices, community resources, and mental health.

Career Coach 
Career Coach is designed to help students find a good career by providing the most current local data on wages, employment, job postings, and associated education and training.

Pathway to Employment Center (PTEC)
PTEC offers career services for select programs of study in Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
Career Closet

The Cincinnati State Career Closet provides work-appropriate attire, at no cost, for current Cincinnati State students who are preparing for job interviews and co-op or internship experiences.

Technical Support

Computer Help Desk and Walk-up Service Window
Blackboard, technology, and computer technical support for faculty, staff and students.

Distance Learning
Instruction primarily through web-based technology such as the Internet, audio, and video.

Childcare Services

Child Development Center
The William Mallory Early Learning Center provides outstanding childcare on Cincinnati State’s campus while serving as a learning lab for Cincinnati State students—particularly those in the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECE) programs. We accept enrollment applications for any child. Priority is given to children of currently enrolled students and staff of the college.


Veterans Student Affairs
Assistance to veterans, eligible dependents, and selected reservists.

Veterans Upward Bound
Veterans Upward Bound is a program designed to help you refresh your academic skills and give you the confidence you need to successfully pursue a college degree or a postsecondary vocational training program.


Metro Discount Card
Cincinnati State and Metro are offering students significantly discounted rates. For only $1, Cincinnati State students can ride any Metro bus route, at any time, to any place Metro travels.
