Faces of Cincy State: DeAnna Tinsley

DeAnna Tinsley: A non-traditional student that conquered time management skills and achieved their goals

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice for your time at Cincinnati State, what would it be?

“I am non traditional student. I am in my early thirties. I came to Cincinnati State originally in 2008. I wish I could tell my younger self to focus on time management more. Even with all my priorities I am able to complete task and be productive because I now know how to manage my time well.”

How do you use what you learned at Cincinnati State in your work today?

“I am currently working in the accounts payable department at my job and it’s allowed me to apply everything I’m learning in class to my real life job.”

Is there a specific class or faculty member that has had an impact on you/your career?

“My advisor, Stanislava Kantcheva, has made such a huge impact on my life. She provides me with sound advice and support. She’s also been my instructor twice and she is a great instructor.”

I would highly recommend every student to experience co-op work experience as it provides an excellent learning experience outside of the classroom and allows students to network and learn first-hand experience related to their field of study.
