Cincy State Alumni Board hosted a family event at the Florence Y’alls ballgame

It was a warm summer evening, but nearly 60 Cincinnati State alumni, employees, and their family members stayed cool while enjoying a great view of a Florence Y’alls baseball game on July 28, 2026.

The group gathered in a large suite for food, drinks, conversation with other alums and employees, and the fun of minor league baseball. (The Y’alls won, y’all.)

Cincinnati State’s Assistant Director of Financial Aid, Jesse Brown, had the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and according to unbiased reporting from the game, Jesse threw a strike to the Y’alls catcher.

Some attendees also went home with raffle winnings–four gift baskets that featured lottery tickets, a kid’s (full) backpack, baseball memorabilia, or bourbon.

Alumni Association Board President Randy Kappesser said, “The night at the ballpark was a family-friendly event that was greatly enjoyed by our attendees of all ages. We very much appreciated the sponsorship provided by Allegiant Energy LLC. Their help made the event affordable for everyone who attended.”
