Our Leadership
President Robbin Hoopes, J.D.

Robbin Hoopes is the seventh president of Cincinnati State. He assumed the role of president on Sept. 1, 2026, after serving for ten years as the College’s provost and chief academic officer.
During Hoopes’ tenure as provost, he led efforts to develop the College’s first bachelor’s degree programs, expand high-demand programs, increase transfer opportunities with area universities, secure major federal and state grants, strengthen the College’s accreditation standing, and achieve recognition of Cincinnati State’s cooperative education and experiential education as a state and national model.
President Hoopes was raised on a dairy farm in eastern Ohio. After completing a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Akron in 1984, he earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Though he began his professional career as a litigator, he has since devoted his work to serving the community. After completing a master’s degree in linguistics at Gallaudet University and a doctoral fellowship in sociolinguistics at Georgetown University, he became a nationally certified interpreter for the deaf, an award-winning community college professor, and, ultimately, a community college leader.
Alignment around the College mission, through collaboration and shared governance with faculty and staff, guides President Hoopes’ work. His career reflects a sustained commitment to meeting the community’s workforce needs through experiential education that provides economic mobility and drives our region’s economy.
