Overview

The Fire Officer 1 certificate prepares students for the role of company officer, using objectives of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1021: Fire Officers Professional Qualifications Level I.

Topics covered include human resource management, community and government relations, inspections, investigations, emergency service delivery, and safety.

Students must possess an Ohio Firefighter II certification and Fire Instructor certification to enter the program.
