Landscape Horticulture (LH)

Description

The Landscape Horticulture program focuses on interior and exterior landscape design, installation, and management.

Students complete foundation courses in horticulture, and then take additional technical courses in subject areas tailored to individual needs, including advanced landscape design, computerized landscape design, landscape construction, arboriculture, or greenhouse or nursery management. Core business courses prepare students for management positions.

Employment Outlook

Excellent. Green industry jobs are projected to increase significantly due to the advancement of new technologies. Graduate placement is extremely high because of a large number of existing employment opportunities. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts employment of landscape architects and grounds maintenance workers will grow by 13 percent through 2022.
