In 2018, Paul served as a security “pathfinder” for the State of Ohio and helped six Ohio counties evaluate the security of their voting systems.

Paul said electronic voting machines in Ohio have a paper back-up system that can be audited to provide additional election security. He said the election officials he met with have “never” found discrepancies between the electronic and paper records.
