Are you returning to classes after some time away or thinking about taking a break from school? CState Complete is here for you. Connect with our team for support by completing our Interest Form.

We offer a “one stop” approach to connect you to resources that will help you finish your program, including:

• Debt Relief
  • Students qualify for Debt Relief if they:
    • Have been unenrolled for 1 or more semesters due to an outstanding debt with the College or a fellow BOLD Compact institution
    • Have completed at least 12 credit hours at Cincinnati State
    • Have a minimum GPA of 2.0
    • Are financial aid eligible or have the ability to pay tuition/fees (i.e., employer reimbursement, scholarships, etc.)
• Ohio Second Chance Grant
  • Returning students qualify for the Ohio Second Chance Grant if they:
    • Are an Ohio resident
    • Have not obtained a bachelor’s degree
    • Have been unenrolled from college for 2 or more semesters
    • Were in good academic standing at the time of disenrollment
    • Are returning to college within 5 years of their last enrollment date
    • Have completed a FAFSA application
• Completion Scholarship
  • Students qualify for Completion Scholarship if they:
    • Qualify for in-state tuition
    • Are within 15 credit hours of earning their credential
    • No longer have access to free financial aid or have a gap in funding
    • Have a minimum GPA of 2.0
    • Receive approval from their program chair
• A review of your personal academic journey
• Guidance on next steps to achieving your goals
• Personalized connections to individuals on campus that can assist you in providing advice, information or relevant next steps

Faculty & Staff

CState Complete offers professional development opportunities, incentives and Student Success Grants to support faculty and staff’s persistence and retention efforts. Updates are shared via the Daily News and divisional e-mails when available.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to enroll in the new “CState Complete – Faculty & Staff Resource Course” in Brightspace. To enroll:

• Select “Discover” in Brightspace and search for the course.
• Once you enroll, it will appear in your course list.

About Us

CState Complete launched in 2024, scaling a small pandemic pilot project that explored peer-to-peer text messages from current students to students who left the College before earning their degree. After seeing initial success, a College team led by Humanities and Sciences Dean Geoff Woolf pursued a federal Title III “Strengthening Institutions” grant to scale the original pilot. The grant was awarded in 2023 and provides funding through 2028.

Now, CState Complete reinforces and sustains a college-wide culture of retention and stop-out prevention to support students’ pathways to program completion, whether they are returning to classes after a break, experiencing a barrier to returning to classes or thinking about leaving the College before earning their credentials. Trained Student Connectors manage peer-to-peer outreach via text message, first learning individuals’ stories to understand why they left the College. Support Specialists help returning or current students address the barriers they’re facing that impact their enrollment with personalized support.
