CCP | FAQ

CCP students who will be in 7th, 8th or 9th grade or who have below a 2.75 unweighted GPA are required to take the ACCUPLACER or submit ACT or SAT scores, if applicable. For information about registering for the ACCUPLACER, click here. Students are only permitted to take the ACCUPLACER once per calendar year.

Other CCP students may be required to take the ACCUPLACER test depending on course requisites prior to meeting with an academic advisor. Information about the ACCUPLACER and registration for a testing date can be found here.

Students can take the Accuplacer after they have submitted the online CCP application. The Accuplacer test is available for free on our Main Campus. You can register to take the test on our Testing Center website.

Photo ID, School ID (with a picture), or other form of identification as described on the Testing Center webpage.

Students testing at Cincinnati State Clifton campus are required to schedule an appointment to take the Accuplacer. Students can schedule online or call (513) 569-1569 to schedule an appointment.

In addition to the Accuplacer, we also accept SAT and ACT scores.

No. When you receive your scores, we can accept an unofficial copy as long as we can clearly see your name, test date, and all sub-scores.

• The State Department of Higher Education has provided a table showing the range of acceptable scores for participation in the CCP program.
• We also review high school transcripts and recommendations of your high school Guidance Counselor.

Most importantly, you need to know what classes you need to graduate from high school and focus on making sure you are meeting high school graduation requirements.

You should also consider your long-term college and career goals and work with an Academic Advisor to carefully review courses available to you. Together, you and your Academic Advisor will develop a plan that will help you meet your long-term goals.

No, some courses are excluded from participation of CCP students. See the list of courses here.

Other than courses that are excluded, CCP students can participate in courses for which you qualify academically, based on your placement score, previous coursework, and/or the enrollment plan you developed with your advisor.

College courses rarely meet every day. When you are using the interactive search tool to explore classes, you will often be able to choose from several different scheduling options.

Work with an Academic Advisor to help you build the best possible schedule.

CCP students can register for classes AFTER completing CCP 101 and meeting with an Academic Advisor. Students are required to meet with an advisor before registering for classes EVERY semester.

Cincinnati State will cover the cost of textbooks for students taking classes online or on our campus.

Any materials beyond textbooks are not covered by Cincinnati State and must be purchased by the student. These materials include calculators, uniforms, and other course supplies. Students can request reimbursement from their school districts for these supplies, per district policy.

Yes, if the textbook for your course is available as an E-book, you may use that option.

Cincinnati State will cover the cost of books purchased via our bookstore. If you choose to use another source to obtain your books, the college will not reimburse you.

CCP students have access to the “Grades” tab through Self-Service. This report includes details such as the semester, course information, instructor name, grade, credit hours, and GPA information.
