College Access Programs (CAP)/TRIO Programs
Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, through its College Access Programs (CAP) Department, provides multiple services that assist prospective and current college and high school students in achieving their academic goals.
From secondary school students to first generation college students, the College’s access programs build awareness of and deliver resources that have supported the higher education aspirations of hundreds of college students in the region.
CAP programs include three U. S. Department of Education TRIO-funded grants:
Traditional Upward Bound serves eligible Mount Healthy High School students who are interested in completing a rigorous secondary academic curriculum along with enrolling and completing a post-secondary program.

The Educational Opportunity Center serves the cities of Cincinnati, Norwood, Lockland, Mount Healthy, and Lincoln Heights, and provides educational, career, and financial aid information and advising to students at no cost, and helps students through the admission process for the college or university or other post-secondary program of their choice.

Student Support Services assists first generation, limited income, and students with disabilities who are currently enrolled at Cincinnati State, and provides academic, financial, and transfer resources that aid in successful completion of an associate’s degree or certificate, and assist with transfer to another higher education institution.
